Halloween Tea Time, our last tea of Halloween School. We have our Pumpkin Doughnuts, Cucumber sandwiches (these are currently the favorite), and Cinnamon spice herbal tea from our favorite tea shop. We read a few Halloween poems while we sipped our team. Perfect for a fall afternoon.

Apples and Pumpkins
I’ve seen it debated apples vs pumpkin. I’m not going to wade into those testy waters, but Caramel apples are a big part of Halloween. Personally I prefer to dip my apples in caramel rather than coat the outside. This homemade caramel sauce is so good I don’t know why I spent so many years […]
Halloween Fun
It’s Halloween fun week and we are trying to fit in some last minute activities. This year I had to stay home and take care of my dog while she recovered from surgery for most of September so we weren’t able to do quite as many things as we usually do. The boys are older […]
Tiny Art
Time has flown by and it is already almost Halloween. 🎃 This year Halloween is on a Monday night unfortunately. We decided to change things up a little and have “Halloween fun week” this week and extend our Halloween school into next week with our Dias De Los Muertos week. This week we watched, or […]
Podcasts and Writing
Over the last few years I have struggled to find documentaries to use for our mornings. I like to have something for us to watch while T moves from sleep to actually being awake. However I don’t necessarily want to watch the same thing every year. We have tried some podcasts in the past to […]
Ink creatures, these remind me of the art from Scary Stories. I was happy to find a more open art project. http://afaithfulattempt.blogspot.com/2011/03/ink-creatures.html?m=1 Gooey Monster Eye cookies, these are an all time favorite here. I make these for more than just Halloween because everyone loves them. They are so easy too. When I make these I […]
Zombies
BRAINS!!! I’ve always wanted to try zombie brain cupcakes but was never brave enough. This year I have been doing a lot more baking and piping work. I’m glad I decided to give these a try. They turned out amazing. My zombies loved them. This is another project that has been repeated for several years. […]
Mummies

This mummy crescent wrap is quick and tasty. All you need is a roll of crescents, 4 slices of your favorite cheese (I used […]
Howling at the moon
Looking for something a bit different for our baking I found this recipe for a pear custard tart. It made me think of the full moon so we made it as part of werewolf week. It was easy and delicious, my favorite combination. You can find the recipe here Coffee filters make fun art projects. […]
Baking Up Pumpkin
Possibly my favorite part of pumpkin week, all of the pumpkin treats. I love pumpkin. Why stop at pumpkin pie and pumpkin latte when you can have pumpkin lasagna and pumpkin mac and cheese. These pumpkin and cream cheese muffins are going on my short list. They were easy to make and so delicious. Pumpkin […]
