Light Spectrum

I jumped from one school year to the next very quickly and it didn’t give me a lot of time to prepare for science experiments. Luckily I had a physics kit just sitting on my homeschooling shelf. This was a freebie from a website, I have had it for a couple of years and just never got around to using it. It is from Educational Innovations Inc, www.teachersource.com
The kit is called Spectra’s Quantum Leap, Physics Quest Kit. It included a “comic book” with story and instructions for several experiments as well as the necessary items for performing those experiments (minus a few household items like tape). This made it easy for us to jump right in and use it for our first couple of weeks of science experiments.

Week 1 Color Blockers, the light spectrum. We used LED lights and colored water to learn about the light spectrum.

Set up was easy, not sure if there were quite enough instructions for Terror to take away quite what he was supposed to from this lesson. All in all still better than some of the science experiments we’ve tried. I felt like we were doing “real science” at least.
