Ok so this actually has nothing to do with ghosts, but what better to have while reading ghost stories than a nice hot cup of home made pumpkin spice latte? We really enjoyed making these.
You can find the recipe here. http://www.inspiredtaste.net/8419/pumpkin-spice-latte-at-home-recipe/
Obviously I tinkered with it a little as I was making 3. I also added instant espresso powder for a bit stronger coffee…cause that is who I am.
Mine is more like
3 cups milk
3 tbs pumpkin puree
3 tbs sugar (we didn’t feel it needed to be too sweet)
2 tbs vanilla extract
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 cup strong brewed coffee
1/2 teaspoon espresso powder (we wanted more coffee flavor)
Mix milk, pumpkin, and sugar in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Heat through but do not boil, continue stirring. Remove from heat, add vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, and coffee (this is when I add espresso powder). Mix well and divide into 3 mugs. The original recipe calls for whip cream for serving, unfortunately we didn’t have any but I’m sure it would be very nice. We enjoyed our lattes with a nice ghost story.
