I loved Phantom Tollbooth as a child, I recently read it to the boys. I will apologize for the terrible wordplay.
Halloween and witches go hand in hand. Whether you are talking about the history of medieval witchcraft and the burning times, fairy tale witches, or the witches in our movies (good and bad) they are a big part of this holiday. It can be difficult to find a decent documentary that is child appropriate. I like the A&E documentary with Leonard Nemoy, though the History Channel has some good documentaries there is some questionable subject manner that may not be suitable for younger audiences. For our first day of Witch Week we watched the A&E documentary.
Then we made Oil Pastel Witch Hat Drawings. We did this project last year as well. It is a lot of fun. The boys enjoyed designing their own witch hats. What would they wear if they went to Hogwarts or Ms. Cackle’s Academy?
