This is something my kids have been asking to do for a while.  It really has nothing to do with Dias De Los Muertos, or even Halloween, but we needed a science experiment for the week and it is kind of icky/creepy so we went with it.  Ooblec is easy to make.  It is safe to consume, and doesn’t require any hard to find ingredients.  We added some Halloween rings to make it seasonal.

You will need

1/2 cup water

1 cup corn starch

baking sheet or shallow dish for playing in.

Optional Halloween themed small toys and tweezers or chopsticks for extra sensory and small motor play.

Mix the cornstarch with the water in a shallow dish or on a baking sheet.  Add small toys and you are ready to play.  Encourage your child to push toys down into the ooblec and try to pull them back out with tweezers or chopsticks.
