Day of the Dead Kitty

This fun little art project actually took two days to complete.  The boys painted the first layer on Monday, and then completed the second layer on Tuesday.  They really enjoyed the project.  It is fun and festive.  We worked on it around the Sugar Skulls and Ooblec.

I love how these turned out.  They look very pretty hanging above our table.  I found this project here.  http://paintbrushrocket.blogspot.com/2015/11/3rd-grade-day-of-dead-skelo-cats.html

We also did our reading on Dias De Los Muertos.  Then discussed how it was similar to Halloween and how it was different.  Where it started, what the traditions were, and how the modern traditions were different from original traditions.  We used this site for help.  https://edsitement.neh.gov/search/content/festivals%20of%20the%20dead
